About this place
Ayamonte is the first village on the Spanish side of the Guadiana River. Why is this among the tips for the Eastern Algarve? Now, it's really worth it. You can get there via the highway by car or by boat from Vila Real de Santa Antonio . The funny thing is that you literally and figuratively end up in a different country, the difference in language is logical, but also in house construction, dishes, clothing, appearance of the village, etc. and don't forget the time difference! It is an hour later than in Portugal.

Ayamonte heeft een gezellig dorpsplein waar het met name op zaterdag enorm gezellig en druk kan zijn. De Spanjaarden zien er altijd tiptop verzorgd uit (dat is in Portugal wel eens anders..). Geniet hier van heerlijke tapas of echte paella!
Er is een botanische tuin die je kan bezoeken en ook de dierentuin, beide leuk voor jong en oud.

Je kunt vanuit de kleine haven met een bootje naar verschillende plekken, zoals eerder gezegd naar Portugal maar ook naar de stranden van Ayamonte. Verder is er in Ayamonte ook een mooie golfbaan waar je kunt spelen. Voor meer info over golf, klik hier.
What's fun to do?
Spanje en Ayamonte houden vast aan de Siesta traditie, tussen 13:00 uur en 16/17:00 uur zijn daarom de winkels dicht. mooi om een fantastisch uitgebreid te gaan lunchen of het strand van Isla Canela te bezoeken. #tip - neem een taxi
