'sustainably discover local customs'
Costs: €30 pp
Duration: approx. 2 - 2.5 hours
Where: Cerra de Caldeirão, Cachopo, Tavira

Experience the real authentic (life in the) Algarve in the hills near Cachopo: the Cerra do Caldeirão. Walk with goats and enjoy locally made cheese.
We take a walk with a goatherder in the mountains of the Algarve whose family has lived in this mountainous area for more than 150 years.
We join him as he lets his goats graze in the hills of Serra do Caldeirão and get a unique glimpse into the life of a self-sufficient farmer in the Algarve.
After this, local cheese and wine, freshly baked bread with homemade jams, and fine honey await us.
About us: We own a farm in the Algarve countryside and have the immense privilege of witnessing our amazing local community living in sustainable ways, from which we believe we can all benefit to learn. Now that the mountain population is declining and more young people are moving to our Portuguese cities, this is a small way to help preserve and highlight this wonderful culture and way of life.
See you soon in the beautiful hinterland!
